Mentor Interview
Why did you choose to be a teacher? I wanted to make a difference in the lives of children, I wanted to teach them to believe in themselves and challenge them to think outside of the box and use their imaginations.

What do you love about your job? Seeing the kids excited about learning and running up to me to tell me what they learned.

Have you ever considered a different job? Yes recently, only because of my health and all my surgeries I’ve had, its hard to keep up sometimes. I’ve thought about being an artist and working with kids through art, doing some sort of art program or a tutor.

What responsibilities do you have as a teacher? Providing quality education that meets my student’s individual and academic needs in the most creative way possible. Also to meet standards in the time period I’m given and their learning and behavior.

What do you find are the most difficult decisions to make within the classroom? Whenever I know there’s something we absolutely have to get done and their not engaged in what I’m trying to do its hard to make the choice to move on or wait because I try do things depending on how their acting. And when we have limited time and may not get done what we need to.

What do you see is your biggest accomplishment as a teacher? Finding a way to get the kids engaged and making them engaged life long learners.

What do you love most about your job? Its fun, I get to work with kids!

What are a couple of goals you have for this class? To work together as a community even while they are on the playground and to make sure all kids are successful at their level.
